If you are struggling with chronic or persistent pain have no fear, there are many tools available to help reduce your pain.  Many times the tools don't even require a dollar spent or anything besides yourself and a quite spot to sit.
Reducing sympathetics is the term used to help restore balance in your nervous system and get you out of a "fight, flight, freeze" state.
This episode is almost an hour and we covered a variety of tools. The best part is there is still so many more tools you can utilize as you learn them.

Isaiah and Amy dive into Chronic Pain to discuss how a dysfunctional or over reactive immune system can provoke an inflammatory response.  An over active inflammatory response creates pain. This reaction leads to persistent and chronic pain.
There is a lot in this episode so grab a pen and paper or your favorite notes app and write some things down. We know there is a lot to try to unpack but you can take notes and dig in even more to help clarify some of the content.  The belief of the Dear Misfits crew is that knowledge is power and the more you understand the better control you can take of you pain.

Amy flies solo with this episode as Isaiah takes a vacation down south.  It's the start of the chronic pain series.  The focus of this episode is to clarify the types of pain and some of what your brain is doing when you are managing chronic pain. Being an individual who manages chronic pain can be tough, and you want answers to questions that may not have great answers.  One of the most valuable pain management strategies for when you manage chronic pain is knowledge.  Knowledge is power.  The more you understand what chronic pain is the more it helps you be proactive and effective in strategies to manage pain.

Battle of YOUR Motivations

Wednesday Jul 19, 2023

Wednesday Jul 19, 2023

Isaiah and Amy dig into motivations and how we start to really rely on external motivation.  This motivation comes from outside of yourself.  A coach, a parent, a spouse, a boss, money, attention, and success are amongst those that give us external motivation.  Our goal is to bring to light some importance on internal motivation in order to make the change you need to make, in order to feel better and make more lasting change. Internal motivation meaning what you find within yourself to do what you need to do to get things done or to feel better.  Our goals is to help you reflect and determine where your motivation is coming from so that you can know where you can make adjustments in order to continue finding success.
